Storify

Storify, according to their site is

a way to tell stories using social media such as Tweets, photos and videos. You search multiple social networks from one place, and then drag individual elements into your story. You can re-order the elements and also add text to give context to your readers.

In my words, it is a way to piece together bits and pieces from various social media sources to show a story. You can add commentary, order things the way you want, and then publish it.

You can publish and share only on storify, or you can publish it to other social media platforms like Facebook, Tumblr., your blog, or even into a newsletter.

Here is a story I put together about a twitter experience one evening:

I was able to put it onto my blog (note: to have this embed into wordpress I had to install a plugin that allows for javascript. It took me awhile to figure that out so hopefully that helps someone out there. Just search on the plugin page for “allow javascript”), on my tumblr page, and I also tweeted out the URL. Here’s another one I put together using my own tweets as well as other’s by searching the hashtag #wewc.

It’s a fun app and can be useful to visually depict how something came together online.

For businesses it can be used to share stories, and it could also be used for reporting the success of online campaigns.

Go play with it and let me know what you think!
